ABOUT ICOGM

A global initiative for optical genome mapping (OGM)

Founded in 2021, ICOGM brings together clinicians, researchers, and laboratory scientists from around the world to advance OGM standards, methodologies, and clinical applications.

OUR STORY

Built by OGM users, for OGM users

The International Consortium for Optical Genome Mapping was established to address a clear need: as OGM technology rapidly expanded into research settings worldwide, practitioners lacked a shared forum for harmonizing methods, troubleshooting challenges, and developing best practices together.

Today, ICOGM supports 15 active working groups spanning cancer genomics, rare diseases, bioinformatics, and clinical validation, with members across 20 countries dedicated to actively shaping the future of the field.

HOW WE WORK

Three pillars of the consortium

Working groups

Focused groups tackle specific topics and challenges in OGM, each led by an appointed members and reporting progress to the full consortium

Regular meetings

Technologists, fellows, clinicians, and scientists convene to share case presentations, working group updates, and discuss topics of interest to the community.

Advisory committee

All founding members form the advisory committee, meeting at least annually to guide the consortium’s direction and priorities.
