The ICOGM was established in 2021 as a global initiative dedicated to advancing the frontiers of optical genome mapping and shaping the future of genomic research.

Administration

Leadership

All founding members of the consortium will be part of the advisory committee and may meet at least once per year and additionally on an ad hoc basis.

Membership

Technologists, fellows, clinicians and lab scientists are welcome to join. Membership in the ICOGM is free of charge. We encourage participation from individuals actively involved in the development of OGM at your institution. The only requirement is that you must be a current user with access to a Bionano instrument (Saphyr or Stratys) at any stage of development (research use, validation for clinical use, clinically validated).

Benefits

The ICOGM provides access to an international network of experts and collaborators with opportunities to contribute to working groups focused on developing OGM for research and clinical use. Members contribute to the growing body of knowledge on structural variant analysis with the intention of publishing to aid the community.

Meetings

The consortium meets regularly as needed. Initially, monthly meetings are scheduled, however this may be reduced to 3-4 meetings per year based on the needs of the members. These meetings serve to highlight specific issues of interest, talks from members, working group reports, and case presentations.

Working Groups

The International Consortium will support several working groups to address specific topics and challenges with the use of OGM. Each working group will appoint a lead member that will help organize and direct the efforts of the group. Working groups will report back their progress to the general membership on a rotating schedule.
